How to See Views on Threads: Post Views, Profile Views and Insights

    2026-10-12

Short answer: Threads gives you views in three places — under any post via View activity, in your own Insights, and publicly as recent views on a profile. Each shows a different number, and they do not match, which is why people think their view counts are wrong.

    1. Views on a single post

Tap View activity under the post (or tap the like count). You'll see likes, replies, reposts, quotes and views.

This works on other people's posts too — unless they have hidden their counts.

    2. Your own views in Insights

On mobile: open your profile, then tap the insights icon (the bar chart near the top). On the web: click More in the bottom-left panel, then Insights.

    What you'll find there:

    • Views — total views across your posts
    • Profile views — how many times your profile was opened
    • Each metric is shown against the previous period

Two limits worth knowing: Insights require at least 100 followers, and the window is fixed — you can pick 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, but there is no custom date range.

    3. The public "recent views" on a profile

Threads shows a recent views figure next to the follower count on public profiles. It reflects the last 30 days and only appears once an account passes roughly 10,000 views in that window, so many accounts don't show one at all.

Because profiles are public by default, anyone can see this number — unless the account owner turns it off in their profile settings.

What actually counts as a view

A view is counted every time a post is displayed on screen, including repeat views from the same person. It is not reach and not unique visitors. That single fact explains most "my view count looks wrong" complaints:

    • The same follower scrolling past your post twice counts twice
    • A post seen in someone's feed and again on your profile counts twice
    • Your own views of your own post are included

What Threads still will not show you

    • Who viewed your profile or your posts — only totals, never names
    • A notification when someone views your profile
    • Views broken down by individual visitor

    Recent changes to Threads analytics

Threads rebuilt its in-app insights in 2026 with AI-written summaries, a follower vs. non-follower reach split, per-post labels ("higher", "lower" or "typical" against your own baseline), audience demographics and peak posting times.

One thing disappeared in that redesign: link clicks. If you want to know how many people tapped the links you shared, the app no longer tells you.

Where the native numbers fall short

The Threads app shows you a window, not a history. You can compare this week to last week, but you cannot see what your views looked like three months ago, and you cannot line up views against follower growth.

Threads Dashboard records a daily snapshot of your views, profile views, likes, replies and followers, so you can pick any date range, see the trend, and keep the link-click numbers the Threads app dropped.

    Common questions

Why can't I see views on someone's post? They may have hidden their counts. Views follow the same visibility setting as likes.

Why do my profile views and post views not match? They count different things: profile views count profile opens, post views count each time a post is displayed.

Do I need 100 followers for Insights? Yes. Below that threshold the Insights entry point does not show your numbers.

Can I see views on an old post? Yes, per post, through View activity. For a trend over time you need a tool that stores history.
