Can You See Who Viewed Your Threads Profile? What Threads Actually Shows

    2026-10-12

No — Threads does not show who viewed your profile. There is no visitor list, no "viewed by" tab, and no way to unlock one. Anyone claiming otherwise is selling something.

What Threads does show is how many profile views you received. That number lives in Insights, and it is the closest thing to visitor tracking the platform offers.

What Threads shows vs. what it never shows

    | | Available on Threads? | | ---------------------------------------------- | --------------------- | | Total profile views (a number) | Yes — in Insights | | Views per post | Yes | | The names of people who viewed your profile | No | | A notification when someone views your profile | No | | Whether a specific person viewed your profile | No |

This is a deliberate design choice. Threads, unlike LinkedIn, does not turn profile visits into a public or semi-public signal.

Where to see your Threads profile views

    1. Open the Threads app and go to your profile
    2. Tap the insights icon (the bar-chart icon near the top)
    3. In the overview you'll see profile views alongside views, likes, replies and follower counts

Insights are only visible to you, on your own account. Other people cannot see your numbers, and you cannot see theirs.

A few things worth knowing about the number itself:

    • Profile views count visits, not unique visitors — the same person returning counts again
    • The Insights overview shows a recent window, so your history is limited there
    • Threads does not break views down by who visited, only by how many and when

Can you view someone else's profile without being seen?

Yes. Because Threads does not record visitor identities, browsing another profile does not create a "footprint" that the profile's owner can look up. Opening someone's profile, post or replies does not notify them.

What about third-party "profile viewer" tools?

You'll find apps and sites promising to reveal who viewed your Threads profile. They cannot deliver it, because the data does not exist on Threads' side. The official Threads API exposes aggregate profile view counts to the account owner and nothing about visitor identity.

If you want to browse public Threads profiles without logging in, that part is real and useful — see the anonymous Threads viewer, which opens any public profile, post or reply in your browser with no account.

    Common questions

Does Threads notify someone when I view their profile? No. There is no view notification on Threads.

Can I see who viewed my post on Threads? No. Post views are counted, not attributed to accounts.

Why does my profile view count look higher than I expected? Views are counted per visit, not per person, and your own visits are included.

Can I see who viewed my Instagram profile? Not through Instagram either — Instagram also reports totals rather than visitor names.

Track your profile views over time

Insights shows you a recent total, but it does not keep a history you can compare. Threads Dashboard stores a daily snapshot of your profile views, followers and engagement, so you can see which days and weeks actually moved your numbers.
